Join saxophonist and composer Brad Wagner on his birthday with an all star big band for an evening of songs and celebration.

Tonight’s music will include some songs you know, and some original music, all arranged and composed by Brad to feature the fabulous musicians he has assembled. This large group will feature some of his favorite local players, including but not limited to Tommy Lehman (Squadtet, Acid Cats), Chris Burge (CB3, Blue Lunch, CJO, UpEnsemble), Aidan Plank (Pulse, CJO, Beta Collective), Johnny Cochran (FunkyardX, Sam Blakeslee Large Group, CJO), Theron Brown (Theron Brown Trio, Sam Blakeslee Large Group, Rubber City Jazz Fest) and many more, with special guest from Chicago, Gerald Bailey on trumpet! Brad, who has played, arranged, and composed for Ernie Krivda and the Fat Tuesday Big Band, Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Sam Blakeslee’s Large Group, and many other fine performing groups, will present music spotlighting every musician on the stage. Conducting and playing soprano saxophone from the front edge of the bandstand, Wagner will share his take on the “four brothers” type saxophone section (three tenor saxophones and one bari saxophone), a beautifully powerful brass section, and a highly interactive and grooving rhythm section.
